Invisalign Maker to Pay $27.5 Million in Class Action Settlement

Align Technology Inc., maker of the popular Invisalign teeth-straightening treatment, agreed to pay $27.5 million to settle claims with 1.45 million class members in a case accusing the company of colluding with the now-defunct SmileDirectClub to inflate prices of aligner products.

Plaintiffs asked the court for preliminary approval of the proposed class action settlement with Align in the US District Court for the Northern District of California. Align also offered each class member who purchased SmileDirectClub aligners a $300 coupon for Invisalign treatment as part of the deal.
