India’s Antitrust Watchdog Orders Probe Into Tata Motors

The Competition Commission of India ordered an investigation into allegations that Tata Motors abused its dominant position in supplying commercial vehicles to authorized dealers, according to a document posted on its website.

  • The regulator noted evidence suggests Tata Motors indulged in a practice of coercing dealers to bill vehicles as per its own needs and requirements. This may result in “swarming dealers with a stock of slow-moving vehicles” and impair their financial health, the document said
