An Illinois federal judge recused herself from a settled antitrust class action brought by homeowners over realtor commission payments.
The spouse of a distant relative is a partner in a law firm representing one of the defendants, Judge Andrea R. Wood of the US District Court for the Northern District of Illinois said in a notice Wednesday.
“My relationship with this relative has not affected or impacted any decision in this case. Nonetheless, the relationship requires recusal under the Code of Conduct for United States Judges,” Wood wrote.
