IDEXX Labs Shakes Off Most State Vet Test Kit Antitrust Claims

Idexx Laboratories Inc. escaped the majority of state antitrust claims brought against it by pet owners who alleged the company monopolized the market for veterinarian test kits, after a federal judge said the plaintiffs lacked standing in jurisdictions across the US.

Chief Judge Stacey D. Neumann of the US District Court for the District of Maine in a March 28 order granted in part IDEXX’s motion to dismiss claims in such states as Florida, Nevada, and Vermont, “where state law requires or permits courts to interpret state antitrust law in harmony with federal antitrust law.”
