Major Insurers Join Antitrust Fight Over Gilead’s HIV Drugs (1)

Several major health insurers brought a host of federal antitrust claims in San Francisco against Gilead Sciences Inc. and three other leading drugmakers, joining the long-running antitrust battle over their alleged scheme to delay generic versions of Gilead’s blockbuster HIV pills.

Humana Inc., Centene Corp., Health Care Service Corp., and four Blue Cross & Blue Shield affiliates filed a combined 11 lawsuits Monday and Tuesday against Gilead, Teva Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd., Bristol-Myers Squibb Co., and a Johnson & Johnson affiliate.
