The city of Houston was hit with a lawsuit in the Southern District of Texas claiming it’s violating due process, equal protection, and antitrust laws by letting only a select group of adult entertainment businesses operate as true strip clubs.
The suit targets a 2013 litigation settlement between the city and 16 clubs that challenged ordinances requiring three feet of space between dancers and customers and banning contact between them. It was filed in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Texas by My Entertainment LLC, which runs a club called Paradise City.
