House’s $892.6 Billion Defense Policy Bill Ends Iraq War Powers

The House on Wednesday backed key defense legislation that would authorize $892.6 billion in national defense policies—in line with levels requested by the Trump administration—and seek to reshape how fast the US military buys and deploys weapons.

The vote was 231-196 with most Democrats opposing the National Defense Authorization Act (H.R. 3838), which includes $848.2 billion in Pentagon-only spending authority and outlines $34.4 billion in defense nuclear programs at the Energy Department.
