A Louisiana hospital sued federal antitrust regulators, including the Federal Trade Commission, seeking clarification that a state’s approval of an acquisition can preempt federal merger review.
Louisiana Children’s Medical Center (LCMC) filed the suit Wednesday after the FTC ordered the hospital to halt its acquisition of three hospitals from HCA Healthcare Inc. while the agency tries to review the deal.
