Google Trial Over US Search-Monopoly Claim Set for September

Alphabet Inc.’s Google is set to square off in court with US antitrust prosecutors in September for a 10-week trial over government claims that the company tried to illegally monopolize the online search business, a federal judge ruled.

US District Judge Amit Mehta in Washington, D.C., on Friday said the US Justice Department and state attorneys general will get about 26 trial days to argue the case they brought against Google, while the company will get 15 days to present its defenses. The trial would start Sept. 12 and last through Nov. 15.
