Google Moves to End Fortnite Maker’s App Store Antitrust Case

Alphabet Inc.'s Google urged a federal judge in San Francisco to throw out claims that its app store monopoly lets it overcharge Android phone users and developers, including allegations by Fortnite maker Epic Games Inc., which sued after Google and Apple Inc. blocked the popular game from their distribution platforms.

The related lawsuits seek “to rewrite the rules by which the Android ecosystem has prospered,” the tech giant says. “Forcing companies to change the terms by which they deal with competitors, customers, or suppliers is not the function of antitrust law.”
