Google Faces Lawsuit From News Publisher Over Search Ad Monopoly

Google LLC and its parent company Alphabet Inc. were hit with a proposed class action over claims the tech giant abused its monopoly power in the general search advertising market .

Helena World Chronicle LLC, publisher of two Arkansas newspapers that deliver online news, argues Google acquired numerous companies such as DoubleClick and AdMob that allowed it to amass an exclusionary digital advertising search network in violation of Section 2 of the Sherman Act, which prohibits attempts to monopolize.
