Golden Globes Group Wins Antitrust Appeal by Foreign Journalists

The Hollywood Foreign Press Association, which organizes the annual Golden Globe awards, escaped antitrust litigation Thursday over allegations that it freezes out foreign entertainment journalists who aren’t members.

The US Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit rejected claims brought by Norway’s Kjersti Flaa and Spain’s Rosa Gamazo Robbins, who accused the press association of applying unfair admission criteria while organizing what amounts to an industrywide boycott of journalists it excludes.
