A series of lawsuits challenging the constitutionality of the Federal Trade Commission and its administrative court is “attacking well-settled law,” Democratic Commissioner Rebecca Kelly Slaughter said Wednesday.
“It’s frustrating because it will slow down agency activity, but these suits” are raising many of the same arguments that were previously dismissed by a federal appeals court, Slaughter told reporters after speaking at an event hosted by the Consumer Technology Association in Washington. “At a certain point, I expect it will go away because it will get resolved, and it will stop being an exciting and fruitful line of attack.”
