FTC Names Former Covington Partner Bureau of Competition Chief

The Federal Trade Commission appointed Henry Liu, a former Covington & Burling partner, as the head of its Bureau of Competition.

Liu’s Tuesday confirmation was unanimously approved by the FTC’s three Democrat-appointed commissioners, the agency said in a press release. He brings more than 14 years of antitrust litigation experience to the role, most recently in Covington’s litigation and antitrust practices.
