U.S. FTC Chair Calls for More Aggressive Merger Enforcement (1)

The head of the U.S. Federal Trade Commission said the agency needs to pursue more aggressive antitrust enforcement to block mergers and combat anticompetitive conduct by dominant companies.

Acting FTC Chairwoman Rebecca Kelly Slaughtertestified at a House Judiciary subcommittee hearing Thursday that the commission has to be more willing to bring risky cases that it might lose in order to deter illegal acquisitions.
