French Antitrust to Probe Euralis, Maïsadour Deal More Deeply

France’s antitrust arm will open an in-depth probe into Euralis and Maïsadour’s plan to create JV in duck industry, according to statement from Autorite de la Concurrence.

  • Authority concluded after initial probe that there are serious competition concerns regarding potential deal
  • Euralis produces fat palmipeds under Euralis Gastronomie subsidiary, while Maïsadour makes fat palmipeds and foie gras under Delpeyrat et Comtesse du Barry brands
