US Soccer and Major League Soccer won’t face a new antitrust trial against the defunct North American Soccer League after a federal judge said he found no reason to retry the case before a jury.
Judge Hector Gonzalez of the US District Court for the Eastern District of New York in a ruling Monday denied NASL’s motion for a new trial, saying many of its challenges are directly contradicted by Second Circuit authority.
