The founder of a Florida oncology practice pleaded guilty to a Justice Department charge that he agreed not to compete with a rival in providing cancer treatments in certain areas of the state.
William Harwin, founder and former president of Cancer Specialists & Research Institute, also known as FCS, changed his plea to guilty Wednesday in the US District Court for the Middle District of Florida. The guilty plea comes nearly a year after Hurricane Ian forced the trial over the Justice Department’s indictment to be suspended midway through.
