Fanatics Inc. is facing a suit claiming it violated antitrust laws by monopolizing the sports trading card market and blocking a rival from competing in the industry.
Fanatics deployed a strategy of “calculated, intentional, anticompetitive conduct to monopolize the markets for major U.S. professional sports leagues trading cards,” competitor Panini America Inc. said in a complaint filed Thursday in the US District Court for the Middle District of Florida.
