Facebook Antitrust Case Refile Wins Extension at FTC’s Request

A federal judge has given the U.S. Federal Trade Commission three more weeks to revive one of its highest-profile suits after he threw out the case last month.

Judge James Boasberg granted the agency until Aug. 19 to refile its case against Facebook, in a ruling Friday.

Boasberg had dismissed the case on June 29 saying the FTC had failed to sufficiently detail its claim that the company has monopoly power in the social media market. He gave the agency an opening to revive the complaint by fixing it and refiling in 30 days, which would have been July 28. ...
