Exxon, Enbridge Accused of Crude Oil Transportation Conspiracy

ExxonMobil Corp. and Enbridge Inc. are accused of conspiring to block rivals from entering the crude oil transportation market and killing a project that would have provided a competitive alternative.

Ducere LLC, an energy infrastructure firm in Illinois, says ExxonMobil and Enbridge formed a joint venture called Mustang designed to deny it and others the ability to move crude oil from Alberta, Canada and North Dakota to refineries in the Midwest and Gulf Coast region, according to a complaint filed Tuesday in the US District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.
