EU Suspends Aon/Willis Towers Watson Review Deadline (1)

The European Commission suspended the deadline to decide on its review of Aon Plc’s bid for Willis Towers Watson, saying the companies need to supply missing information about the tie-up.

• EU previously had a May 10 deadline to rule on deal
• Commission says in emailed statement that the review was suspended under a procedure for “when companies fail to provide, in a timely fashion, an important piece of information that the commission has requested from them”
• Company representatives declined to comment
