An Ohio-based engineering firm and a former executive face criminal antitrust charges for allegedly conspiring to rig bids for a project funded by the federal government and the North Carolina Department of Transportation.
In a nearly decade-long scheme allegedly perpetrated by Contech Engineered Solutions LLC and Brent Brewbaker, the two illegally conspired with an unnamed engineering company to manipulate the price of aluminum structure bids for the North Carolina project, the Justice Department said Friday in a press release.
