Apmex Inc., facing claims that it conspired to corner the eBay precious metals market, says the lawsuit in Los Angeles federal court fails to show either below-cost pricing or a scheme to raise prices after gaining a monopoly.
The antitrust suit accuses Apmex of leading a decadelong, coordinated predatory pricing conspiracy among 14 commodities sellers. The case was filed in January in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California by A-World Trade Inc., a competitor. It doesn’t make any allegations against eBay.
