Disney Uses ESPN, Hulu to Raise TV Streaming Costs, Suit Alleges

The Walt Disney Co. broke federal antitrust law by using its ownership of Hulu and ESPN to drive up online TV subscription prices, a group of YouTube TV subscribers alleged.

Disney allegedly used ESPN and its controlling stake in Hulu to set price floors in the streaming market, according to the proposed class action filed in the US District Court for the Northern District of California, filed Nov. 18.
