Two gaming companies that allege Valve Corp. holds monopoly power in the PC video game digital distribution market with its Steam platform can pursue those claims on behalf of a certified class.
Judge Jamal N. Whitehead of the US District Court for the Western District of Washington granted a motion for class certification to plaintiffs Wolfire Games LLC and Dark Catt Studios Holdings Inc. They will represent a class of game companies or individuals who paid a commission to Valve to sell games on its Steam game distribution platform from January 2017 through the present.
