Delta Urges US to Drop Plans to End Aeromexico Partnership

Delta Air Lines Inc. called on the US Transportation Department to reverse plans to terminate its partnership with Grupo Aeromexico SAB, arguing that the move would erode competition in the US-Mexico market, harm consumers and slow economic growth in Mexico.

In a filing with the agency Friday, Delta said any move to terminate antitrust immunity for the partnership that allows the carriers to jointly plan flights and routes based on the actions of the Mexican government “would be rash, counterproductive, discriminatory and unprecedented.”
