CVS Health Corp. is facing a new antitrust suit from a hospital, alleging that the pharmacy giant used its subsidiary to stifle competition among administrative service providers that ensure compliance with a federal drug discount program.
Brandywine Hospital LLC , which ran a hospital in Coatesville, Pa., claimed in a lawsuit, filed Monday, that CVS forced “safety net” hospitals and other providers to purchase administrative services from a CVS subsidiary, Wellpartner, if they want to realize “340B program” savings for patients who fill prescriptions at CVS pharmacies.
