Comscore Accused of Box Office Data Monopoly in Antitrust Suit

Media analytics company Comscore Inc. was hit with a suit claiming it leveraged a monopoly over box office data to block a rival from competition.

Comscore cut off CinemaCloudWorks Inc. from box office data and harmed the rival’s web-based business that uses the information to advise motion picture distributors on when to book films, according to a complaint filed Monday in the US District Court for the Central District of California. CCW does business as Atlas Distribution Co.
