Cleanaway Says ACCC’s Decision Date on Suez Assets Deferred

Cleanaway Waste says the Australian Competition & Consumer Commission deferred its decision date for the clearance of the company’s acquisition of a portfolio of post-collection assets in Sydney from Suez.

  • The decision date has been deferred to Dec. 9 from Dec. 2
  • Cleanaway understands the delay has arisen because of the ACCC’s consideration of Veolia’s proposed acquisition of the balance of Suez’s Australian business, including the proposed divestment package that Veolia has offered in connection with that transaction
  • Confident the acquisition will receive ACCC approval
