Caterpillar Alters Dealer, Sales Models in Russia

Caterpillar Eurasia LLC will change its dealership arrangements and cross-border sales practices voluntarily in Russia following discussions with the country’s antitrust authority and the Eurasian Commission.

Kazakhstan’s Eurasia Group LLC complained to the Federal Anti-Monopoly Service (FAS) last year, saying Caterpillar and its Russian dealers refused to sell their products to Kazakhstan, said an FAS statement. The government of Kazakhstan raised the issue with the Eurasian Commission, and the FAS launched an antitrust probe.

Between December 2015 and March 2016, the FAS audited Caterpillar Eurasia LLC and Russian dealers Zeppelin Russland LLC, Mantruck Vostok LLC and Vostochnaya Technica LLC. The ...
