Canadian Hockey League Dropped From Teen Players’ Antitrust Suit

The Canadian Hockey League and its affiliate organizations have been dismissed from an antitrust suit alleging they entered unlawful deals allowing them to exploit junior players and illegally profit from their labor.

Judge Margaret M. Garnett of the US District Court for the Southern District of New York granted CHL’s motion to dismiss, saying the plaintiffs failed to show personal jurisdiction in the court over the CHL defendants, which primarily operate in Canada or in states other than New York.
