Canada’s Competition Bureau has cleared Marriott International Inc.’s proposed C$168 million ($131 million) acquisition of the Delta Hotels and Resorts Brand from Delta Hotels Limited Partnership.
A no action letter was issued to Marriott on the ground that the transaction was unlikely to result in a substantial lessening or prevention of competition due to effective remaining competitors, including chain and independent hotels, in each of the geographic areas where the parties’ services overlap, the bureau determined in a March 16 statement.
