Bracco Unit Fails to Toss Antitrust Suit Over Imaging Product

Italy’s Bracco Imaging SpA will face some claims in an antitrust suit alleging it engaged in a scheme to dominate the market for ingestible products used to enhance medical imaging of the gastrointestinal tract.

Judge Sarah Pitlyk of the US District Court for the Eastern District of Missouri in a sealed ruling Tuesday partly denied a Bracco unit’s motion to end the case centered around the market for barium sulfate, a key ingredient in a milk-like drink patients take before radiographic imaging studies.
