Bolsonaro Mulled Argentina Asylum as Brazil Trial Looms (1)

Brazil’s Jair Bolsonaro considered requesting political asylum in Argentina while working with one of his sons to block a court trial that may land him in jail, according a police report and documents retrieved from the former president’s mobile phone.

The findings led police to recommend additional charges against Bolsonaro and his son Eduardo, a lawmaker who’s been in the US since March lobbying for Donald Trump to interfere in Brazil on behalf of his father. Brazil’s top court gave them 48 hours to provide explanations.
