Bankrate Wins Appeal of BanxCorp Antitrust Suit Over Rate Tables

Bankrate Inc., which runs a website focused on personal finances, secured its win Thursday against a lawsuit by rival BanxCorp., persuading the Third Circuit to reject claims that it monopolized the market for online rate tables linking to the services of mortgage lenders.

“BanxCorp raises a congeries of arguments, none of which we find persuasive,” Judge Thomas Hardiman wrote for the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit in a nonprecedential opinion.
