Apple Hit With Developer’s Suit After Rebuke in App Store Case

Apple Inc. was sued in federal court by an app developer that claims the tech giant illegally charged it inflated fees following a ruling that found the company violated a court order related to its App Store practices.

Plaintiff Pure Sweat Basketball Inc. alleges Apple purposefully disregarded a 2021 injunction and wrongfully charged it and other app developers millions of dollars “for which restitution and disgorgement are appropriate,” according to a complaint filed May 2 in the US District Court for the Northern District of California.

Pure Sweat has released basketball training apps on the App Store.
