Apple Antitrust Case From DOJ Reassigned After Judge Recuses

A new federal judge is overseeing the the US Justice Department’s sweeping antitrust lawsuit against Apple Inc. after Judge Michael Farbiarz recused himself.

Farbiarz justified his recusal on Wednesday by citing a rule barring federal judges from overseeing cases in which their impartiality “might reasonably be questioned.” Farbiarz didn’t specify his potential conflict of interest, which could include a financial stake or a relative’s connection to the case.
