Anadarko Unit Defeats Oil and Gas Lessors’ Antitrust Lawsuit

A subsidiary of Anadarko Petroleum Corp. won its motion to dismiss a decade-long antitrust suit brought by a group of oil and gas lessors in Pennsylvania.

Judge Karoline Mehalchick of the US District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania in a Monday opinion dismissed the plaintiffs’ claims with prejudice, saying they lacked standing to bring antitrust claims.

The plaintiffs “complained of injury is not inextricably intertwined with Defendants’ alleged anticompetitive scheme,” she said.
