American-JetBlue Alliance Draws Consumer Case After Trial (1)

American Airlines Group Inc. and JetBlue Airways Corp., which have been fighting the Biden administration’s bid to break up their “Northeastern Alliance,” now face consumer antitrust litigation over the partnership on flights into and out of Boston and the New York area.

The proposed class action was filed late Monday, about two weeks after a trial concluded in the US District Court for the District of Massachusetts, where the Justice Department is attempting to break up the cooperative venture. Judge Leo T. Sorokin is expected to issue a ruling in that case next year.
