Amazon Claims FTC Can’t Bring Suit Without Administrative Action

Amazon.com Inc. is claiming the Federal Trade Commission’s antitrust lawsuit against it directly violates the agency’s legal authority, as the e-commerce giant makes its latest effort to kill the commission’s landmark case.

In a motion filed late Dec. 6, Amazon argued the FTC doesn’t have the authority to seek injunctive relief in federal court without a corresponding case in administrative court, as it did with its action filed in the US District Court for the Western District of Washington.
