Amazon Buyers Secure Class Certification in Pricing Policy Case

Consumer plaintiffs who bought goods from sellers on Amazon.com Inc.‘s marketplace have won class action status in a case accusing the online giant of unfair policies that prohibit merchants from offering lower prices on other e-commerce platforms.

Judge John H. Chun of the US District Court for the Western District of Washington granted the plaintiffs’ motion for class certification in an early August order that was unsealed, but partially redacted, on Aug. 29.
