Amazon Again Accused of Co-Employing Drivers Under Labor Law

Amazon.com Inc. faces a second set of allegations that it jointly employed a group of subcontracted drivers, opening up another front in a nascent legal battle that threatens the e-commerce giant’s delivery network.

The National Labor Relations Board’s regional director in Atlanta determined that Amazon and MJB LLC co-employed the drivers, and that the two companies illegally coerced those workers and gave the impression that they were being surveilled, an agency spokesperson said Wednesday.

Regional Director Lisa Henderson will issue a complaint against Amazon and its “delivery service partner” if they don’t settle. Litigation over the charges would follow.
