Aluminum Firms Fined EU175m by German Cartel Office

Germany’s Federal Cartel Office imposed EU175m in fines on five aluminum forging companies and 10 employees who agreed to pass on cost increases to customers.

  • Cartel Office comments in emailed press release on Wednesday
  • Fines for Otto Fuchs Beteiligungen KG, Leiber Group GmbH & Co KG, Strojmetal Aluminium Forging GmbH, Presswerk Krefeld GmbH & Co. KG and Bharat Forge Aluminiumtechnik GmbH.
  • No fine imposed on Hirschvogel Aluminium GmbH, which was first to tell regulators about the illegal pact
  • Company representatives met between 2006 and 2018 to exchange information on costs and price increases
