Allscripts, McKesson Help Surescripts Keep Monopoly: Suit (1)

Surescripts LLC, Allscripts Healthcare Solutions Inc., and McKesson Corp. unit RelayHealth were hit with an antitrust lawsuit in the Northern District of Illinois alleging a scheme to corner the e-prescription market.

The proposed class action accuses Surescripts of conspiring with rival RelayHealth and electronic health record manager Allscripts to monopolize the e-prescription industry. Surescripts bullied both companies into exclusive dealing agreements and noncompetes by threatening to lock them out of its software or hit them with millions in retroactive charges, according to the complaint.
