Southern Glazer’s Wine and Spirits LLC and Republic National Distributing Co. must face claims they colluded to monopolize online sales of alcohol and push online distribution platform Provi out of business.
Judge Nancy L. Maldonado of the US District Court for the Northern District of Illinois on Thursday denied the distributors’ motion to dismiss “in its entirety,” saying Provi sufficiently alleged antitrust injury as well as direct evidence of the defendants’ monopoly power in the markets for online alcohol marketplaces, advertising on those platforms, and data analytic services.
