Agri Stats, Pork Producers Blocked From Ending Price-Fixing Case

Agri Stats Inc. and several of the country’s largest meat producers can’t stop antitrust litigation from moving forward, after a federal judge concluded there were genuine issues of fact regarding an alleged agreement to fix pork prices.

Judge John R. Tunheim of the US District Court for the District of Minnesota in a Monday opinion and order denied motions for summary judgment by Agri Stats and other defendant companies, including JBS USA Food Co., Seaboard Foods LLC, and Tyson Foods Inc., on claims under the Sherman Act.
