Italy Tax Agency Explains Income Tax Return Filing Procedure for Extended R&D Tax Credit Period

The Italian Revenue Agency Jan. 17 posted online Letter No. 30 clarifying the 2020 income tax return filing procedure for an R&D tax credit for an extended period, originally established for the period between Oct. 1, 2019 and Sept. 30, 2020. The tax agency clarified that the taxpayer may claim the tax credit for the extended period even if the details of the expenses haven’t been declared in the annual statement, provided various procedural requirements are met.
