A reminder that taxpayers who missed the April 18 tax deadline and owe taxes should file and pay by June 14, to avoid a larger late-filing penalty, the IRS announced June 9. The IRS also reminded taxpayers about penalty relief that may be available for some taxpayers, and options if they are unable to pay. The IRS said some taxpayers automatically get more time to file, such as members of the military serving in combat zones, taxpayers living outside the U.S., and those living in declared disaster areas.
