North Carolina GOP Preps New House Map Targeting Democrat

North Carolina is joining a procession of Republican-led states aiming to redraw congressional district lines before the 2026 election to preserve the party’s tiny House majority through the end of Donald Trump’s presidency.

North Carolina’s legislature will convene and vote next week on a new map that’s intended to squeeze an additional district from Democrats, according to state Republican leaders.
